We play authentic rockabilly but also some classic rock and roll...there are a lot of really good rockabilly/rock n roll bands on the circuit and midnight shift are relative newcomers to the scene, but already we are getting good reviews and comments.

we are aware that with so many bands, all covering your favourite songs, we wanted to do the same but also add a lot of stuff that is not covered so much by the others..so we endeavour to find good rocking stuff that, not only you, but we too, will find exciting and interesting.

our rockabilly sound is unique in that it is simple but exciting..george has his own style of slap bass that blends perfectly with the  drums....I (colin) remember during one of our practise sessions,we were playing a song and it just rocked, but couldn't think what was happening and what it was that was making such a good sound.it was awesome...so for the next few songs I really listened and analised what was happening...it turned out that when the drummer played on the hi-hat and hit the snare with rimshots, georges bass slap was coming in on the off beat to it.. so we had this really good percussion sound, a bit like a very fast train on the tracks..add to that the bass and my guitar, which I often play using thumbpick travis style, and we get a very good rocking sound...if you ever get to see us live, listen out for that sound...on some of our songs the sound is different..again the slap of the bass is very important, but it is blended with the symbols..it sounds a bit like a steam hammer or someone mixing something in a pudding bowl !!..it is really unique..you can really hear it on some of the tracks on the CD.

below are two tracks taken from our cd.."rockin' at the rooms" which will be released shortly
